Elf on the Shelf Ideas

Our Elf on the Shelf, Elfie,  arrived on December 1, 2013 straight from the North Pole ( a.k.a. Deseret  Book).
Next he hid in the silverware drawer, and he hid ten butter knifes.
The next day he made sure we would " Be Good" by leaving us a message

Then he did graffiti on our mirror.

The next day Elfie went sledding on a gram cracker & candy cane sled. Brrrrrrr!!!

Then he got got trapped in a jar.

Next he got stuck inside the candy bag. Apparently he has a sweet tooth.

After the candy episode he decided to hide in the tissue box and take out all the tissues.

Then Elfie drew on our eggs!  He shouldn't be allowed to have a marker!

Next Elfie hopped into the dump truck and brought a load of treats to the kids!

After he drove the dump truck Elfie wanted a smore!

Then Elfie decided to try to get into our house!

After Elfie got into the house he decided to bring the kids a present and color a picture for us!

Elfie brought  the kids some puzzles to do.

Elfie got into the whip cream!

More from Elfie coming soon!:)

Mini Corn Dog Muffins With Fry Suace

For lunch today I tried a new recipe. Mini corn dog muffins. I got the recipe from http://www.onegoodthingbyjillee.com/2012/03/mini-corn-dog-muffins-gluten-freeor-not.html. I think that these corn dogs are pretty good.  There a healthier alternative than Pronto Pups. These mini corn dogs are a really fun food to make, and they are something different.  I hope you enjoy!
First I made the buttermilk.  I used 1 cup milk & added 1 tsp. cream of tartar.
Then you combine the butter, sugar, and eggs.
Now mix dry ingredients together.
Next mix dry ingredients, wet ingredients, and buttermilk together.
Set batter aside and cut hot dogs into 1" pieces.
Fill batter into a greased mini cupcake pan.
Put a hot dog into each of the muffins.
Bake for about 10 min.  Or until cornbread is golden on top.

While the muffins are cooking make the fry sauce.

Fry Sauce recipe:

1 cup Ketchup

1/2 cup Mayo or Miracle Whip(which ever you prefer)

1 TBS. Mustard (more or less to taste)

Add Ketchup, Mayo, and Mustard
Stir together. The sauce should be a pinkish orange color.

When corn dogs are done, remove from oven and let cool.
Now you have Mini Corn Dog Muffins.
Enjoy!:)

Helpful Hints:

When you fill the cupcake pan it helps to use a cookie scoop
When you grease your pans I would suggest using Wilton's Bake Easy non- stick spray. It works so much better on cakes and breads than the regular brand.

7up lifting ways to enjoy girls camp printables

Materiels you will need:

  • as many desired 7up printables cut 3.75"x5"
  • green stamp/ink pad
  • circle stamp or pencil with flat eraser
  • yellow paper cut 4.5"x 6"
  • ruler
  • pen or pencil to write with

Print out 7up printable.  I printed 2 on the front of the page and 2 on the back.  Measure paper in half about 4.25"x 5.5".
Cut the paper.
Use craft knife to trim the paper.
Use pen or pencil to trace measurements for the border. You want the border to be about 1/2 inch on all sides.
When you are done outlining the paper for where you want to cut it,the paper should look something like this.
Use pencil with flat eraser or a circle stamp to make a polka dot border around the edges.

Go all the way around it until you are finished
Now you have your polka dot border.

Glue your 7up printable on the yellow piece of paper. I used a glue stick.
Here is the finished product. They are so cute! One of the cutest handouts I have ever seen! Hope you enjoy!

Cinnamon Roll Pancakes

so today I wanted to make pancakes and I came across a recipe that I just had to try. so I found this recipe
at http://justhelen.net/2013/03/friends-food-and-family-cinnamon-roll-pancakes-with-cream-cheese-glaze/. Its a cinnamon roll pancake with cream cheese glaze. There pretty much a pancake with cinnamon roll filling in them. I think there pretty good, there something different, and there fun to make. I don't think they hold a candle to my cinnamon french toast.
first you make the batter.
Then you make the filling. You can put it in a piping bag,  but I put it into a zip lock bag.
Or a better alternative to both of those is one of these little squeeze jars.
The pancakes and the filling cook at different temp. so when they are done the filling will look missing, but it will still have the flavor.
For the glaze I didn't use cream cheese, but without the cream cheese it still tasted yummy! Tada we have the finished product cinnamon roll pancakes with a vanilla glaze.
Hope you enjoy :)

Helpful Hints:
when you cut pancakes, quesadilla, and waffles it helps to use a pizza cutter.
When you fill a piping bag or a zip lock bag use a cup and fold the top of the bag over the edge of the cup. It makes filling a piping bag so much easier, and less messy.
